Ten Reasons Why Your Small Business Should Establish A Web Presence

"But mine is just a small business," you might answer when asked about

establishing a web presence for your enterprise.

Though such a reply is expected, it is often justified with facts. The truth of

the matter is, even if your business is not big enough to warrant a Fortune 100

citation, it will greatly benefit from all the advantages that the World Wide

Web can offer. Turning down those advice to acquire your own domain name and to

create a website under a professional web hosting service can cost you

immeasurable losses you may not even realize.

Let us take a look at 10 compelling reasons why you should avail yourself of a

well positioned web presence in this, the digital age.

1. The world - the ENTIRE world - can become your market. Indeed, whatever

audience you're catering to right now would fall pale in comparison to the

global market that the Internet can open up for you. Imagine taking potential

orders from people, unbounded by geographic borders and restrictive economic

systems. The Internet makes laissez faire look like child's play!

2. Your products can be exposed to 50 million people. Studies show that there

are 50 million people online, at any given time. All of these people are your

potential customers, and all of them can possibly get to know about your

products.

3. Increase your sales. Since you'll be catering to more prospects, the chances

of bagging a sale or a deal would be better. It's a number's game, and you'll be

turning things to your favor.

4. Market your goods or services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your website can

become your digital store that will operate on auto-pilot. You could log off the

Internet, and your website can still promote your products, process payments,

instantly deliver items, and even take care of some post sales concerns. No need

to hire human assistants whom you have to pay some overtime and night shift

differential salaries.

5. Add to the professional reputation of your business. Establishing web

presence, especially with a sleek, easily navigable, and professional-looking

website, would greatly help build your brand and increase costumer confidence.

6. Delivery is no longer a problem. The advent of the Internet has totally

revolutionized the way courier services conduct their business. Nowadays, they

could deliver items to the farthest corners of the Earth. You won't have to

worry about the location of your customers. Anything, and we do mean ANYTHING,

can now be delivered right in front of their doorsteps.

7. Convenient payment processing options. You don't have to settle for checks or

money orders that take some time to mature, though they will always remain as

options. There are a lot of merchant accounts available that would allow you to

process credit card payments instantly, and the funds you will receive can be

transferred to your bank account.

8. Security is no longer a major concern. With SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

encoding, you could protect your transaction pages against unwanted intrusions.

9. A lot of marketing tactics can be availed of for free in the World Wide Web.

Strategies like viral marketing, article marketing, forum marketing, membership

marketing and the likes often require no financial investment, or at the very

least, a minimal amount to get you started. The results they promise, however,

are quite amazing.

10. Correspondence with your prospects as well as your existing customers would be made easy. Digital delivery of messages is instantaneous, you'll receive them

the moment that they are sent!

Though change can bring about a lot of uncertainties, especially in business, it

should not be outright dismissed. Establishing a web presence, regardless of the

size of your business, can only offer a world of benefits for your industry.

Business Promotion Tactics That Every Marketer Should Embrace

Any business that wants to remain relevant must know how to move with the current market trends. We are in the information age, thus customers have access to information that helps them in making purchasing decisions. Ask yourself as a business owner; are my products relevant in the market? Relevance is imperative in business promotion.

Effective marketing is about simplicity. When advertising, realize that you are communicating to a variety of people; hence your target audience should understand what your business brand message is all about. Using jargon will not help you get the attention of your target market.

As earlier mentioned, we are in the information age and one place that customers are spending most of their time is on the internet. Internet marketing strategies like viral marketing and affiliate marketing are effective avenues of announcing your presence globally. Rather than only depending on old marketing strategies, you need to adopt new and modern business promotion hence improve customer experience.

The most effective marketing strategy is word of mouth. This has been termed as a powerful mode of business promotion since it is about clients sharing their customer experience about a product or service. If you can satisfy a single customer and make him go tell others about your product, then you will definitely promote your business brand with ease.

Another marketing tip is associating your business brand with major social events. The FIFA world cup is here and any business owner who wants to reach a wide target market has the opportunity. This message is especially for African countries that now have a great business opportunity to take the global market world by storm.

Google Blog Search What You Should Know

Google is moving in so many directions, it can be somewhat

difficult to keep track of all the services and tools

offered by this premium search engine. For the seasoned

webmaster as well as the ordinary surfer, keeping a clear

picture of what Google is offering is sometimes a little

overwhelming.

Recently, there has been a deluge of new products from

Google. If you hit the 'more' button on the Google Home

page, you will see a smattering of Google services and

tools. Including Desktop 2, Print, Maps, Google Earth...

you can even search and browse mail-order catalogs.

Now comes Blog Search - where Internet users can now

search blogs for their information. This is a welcomed

service, especially for bloggers. Google's embracing of

blogs started with the purchase of Blogger.com and got

sidetracked with the 'costly' argument over which

syndication standard to use. Most favored RSS while

Google promoted the Atom standard for its blog feeds.

Blogs are online journals where ordinary people give

opinions, information and links on topics that matter

to them. These topics can be anything under the

sun: from politics to needlepoint to corporate blogs

to your local school's basketball team. Blogs give a

real insight into what ordinary surfers believe and feel

about a subject.

It's an instant snapshot of our world in words and pictures

-- but mostly words.

Blogs are often associated with RSS because RSS is

the syndication standard that sends out the blog's content

in little snippets to all interested parties. Subscribers

to these blogs can read these headlines in News Readers or

Aggregators and then click on the links to get more

information. Keep in mind, the original acronym for

RSS is 'Rich Site Summary', but that meaning has been

somewhat replaced by the major benefit of RSS which

is 'Really Simple Syndication'.

Many browsers are now coming with an RSS reader already

built-in, such as the popular Mozilla's Firefox browser.

Microsoft's new Longhorn version of Windows will have

RSS built into its operating system.

Recently Google has embraced RSS in its Desktop 2 program

and in the XML powered Google Sitemaps. Now comes Blog

Search, a way to search all the information in these blogs.

In the past, most bloggers have used the Technorati site

to search blogs as well as RSS search offered by MSN and

Yahoo.

Some things you should know about Google Blog Search:

1. How to access it? You can use the blog Search site

http://www.blogsearch.google.com or http://www.search.blogger.com

You may also use the Navigational Bar on any BlogSpot

blog, plus you will also be able to access it from your

Blogger Dashboard. The Blogger Navbar gives you the option

of searching within the current blog or searching all blogs.

Major criticism -- Google has not placed a link on its

home (front) page of Google search; as blogs and blogging

becomes even more popular maybe this error will be fixed.

2. Who's included? It should be noted that Google will index

all blogs using a site feed (RSS or Atom) and you can get

your Blog indexed just by using an automatic pinging service

offered by such sites as http://www.weblogs.com

Please Note -- Your older posts may not be present in search

results, Google started indexing feeds around June, 2005.

Older posts may be included at a later date.

3. What search operators or query words are supported? You can

use these standard Google Search modifiers and Google will

restrict your results -- link:, site:, intitle: plus new

ones for Blog Search -- inblogtitle:, inposttitle:,

inpostauthor:, and blogurl:

4. Can I subscribe to search results? Yes, just use the News

Aggregator of your choice and subscribe to the feeds at

the bottom of the results page, then you can be automatically

updated as new posts come online.

5. Can I use Safesearch? Yes, Google lets you filter out any

unwanted sites.

More information on Blog Search click here:

Blog Search is a great extension to the Google Search Empire,

it will give surfers access to a greater range of material.

No doubt, this is not the end of what Google has to offer to

its loyal followers. Persistent speculation and rumors abound,

it just won't go away, rumors that Google is NOT only designing

its own browser (it owns the domain gbrowser.com) but its own

operating system.

But why stop there -- if you're dreaming of the perfect

search -- you must go further. Google must go further!

And since we're dreaming...

How about a Google delivered Instant Search embedded in a

Google RSS Powered Operating System on a Google designed

ultra-portable notebook computer with a wireless cell phone

modem, accessible anywhere in the world...

...wake me up when it arrives!

5 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Google AdWords

Websites thrive on traffic. Business websites need customers. Blogs need consumers to read them and subscribe.

As a website owner, you'll probably spending a large portion of your time driving traffic to you website. There are several ways to bring traffic. You can optimize pages for the search engines. You can write articles and submit them. You can use social networking to build relationships on the internet.

One very important method of driving traffic is Google AdWords. AdWords has one important difference from all the other methods mentioned. AdWords costs money. You design an ad for your website, and then Google places your ad on their search engine results, in the paid or sponsored links section. You pay Google every time someone clicks your ad.

However, AdWords has advantages that offset the costs. Why should you use Google AdWords to drive traffic? What are the arguments for AdWords?

1) Google AdWords will start sending your website traffic immediately.

It takes time for a website to rank high enough to appear on organic search results. It takes time to write articles and submit them. It takes time to build a social network. All the other methods of driving traffic require an investment of time. These alternatives require hours of work to establish, and then may take weeks or months to show results.

AdWords will start sending traffic to your website today. As soon as you create a campaign and an ad, you can begin getting traffic.

2) Google will help you every step of the way.

Google makes a significant portion of their revenue from AdWords ads. Google makes money by you participating in AdWords and wants you to succeed. Google publishes user guides, blogs and other information to make using AdWords as easy as possible.

3) AdWords provides the information about your campaign that you need to succeed.

AdWords provides keyword research tools so you know what consumers are searching for. AdWords helps you evaluate your campaign after it is created. AdWords supplies you with the impressions, click through rates and costs of you campaign. It informs you of the Quality Score for your ads, on a scale of 1 to 10. It offers advice on how to improve the Quality Score.

4) You can control the cost of AdWords with the proper strategy.

Knowing how to obtain a good Quality Score for your ad can reduce your cost per click. A well optimized campaign can deliver traffic for just a few cents per click. The Free AdWords Strategy Guide describes step by step how to optimize your ads.

5) Anyone can obtain the top ad positions.

AdWords values quality over price. AdWords doesn't simply award the highest ad position to the highest bidder. The ad quality score is the primary factor in ad positions. That means you can advertise in highly competitive markets, using a good Quality Score to beat out other advertisers who are simply spending more. The Free AdWords Strategy Guide reveals exactly how to get a good Quality Score.

Are you over paying for your AdWords campaigns? Have you experienced any of the following problems using Google AdWords?

High cost to maintain your AdWords campaign Poor quality score affecting your bids Low Click Through Rate for your ads Minimum bid for your keywords is too high Landing pages that don't convert There is a solution to all of these problems. Get your FREE copy of the Adwords Strategy Guide
