Strategies for Successful Web Promotion



There are many ways to increase traffic to generate thousands of hits to your website with good Web promotion. Unfortunately, most of these are not successful and often prove to be a waste of time. Search engines index the content of your website using 'spiders'. As a result, for successful Web promotion, it is essential to put enough keywords into your webpage content without changing its meaning.

The title of your pages is the key for Web promotion. Use a title of between five and eight words on your webpage, removing unnecessary words such as 'and' or 'the'. Your home page should have descriptive words including your business name first in your title. For good Web promotion, the first words in your title should be the words that people most likely search for. On the search engines, the title of your webpage will attract visitors. The Description META Tag should be used to describe the content of your text. In META Tag, include keywords and phrases that you have used in your body. These words should be at the top of your webpage, below the heading tags.

Include Keywords in the Header Tags and the First Paragraph. The search engines key to your Web promotion, look at words in your headline and subheadings and consider these to be important on the page. For successful Web promotion, ensure your important keywords and phrases are present. Search engines also look for keywords in your opening paragraph. You may also want to include keywords in the ALT tags or COMMENT tags. Use many pages on your website each focusing on keywords or particular key phrases. Instead of showing everything, offer on one page, put together separate pages for each service. This helps ensure good Web promotion and helps your web page to rate highly for those keywords, because they will be more targeted to the search.

On most search engines, there is a link saying something like 'Submit your URL'. This is one of the keys to Web promotion. Thus, be sure to use this and have the search engines look at your pages. Some of the more important search engines provide content to others and to portal sites. Those dynamics are then taken into consideration deliberately and second-handed to your improvement when it is time to create, change, and update the web site that you want to optimize.

List your webpage on the Open Directory Project managed by processors and editors. This is a directory, which provides links and content feeds for many of the biggest search engines. It is a useful tool in Web promotion and gives links your site from a hub that Google uses and considers important.

Look for other sites covering similar topics to your own and send an email to their webmaster. See if you can arrange links between sites and add them to your Links section. This is valuable tool in Web promotion, because some search engines will look at the number of other sites are linking to yours.
